Emily Peterson, Director

Emily brings several years of experience working specifically with L2 (alternatively, ESL or ELL) students on grammar, syntax, structure, and organization. As a graduate of Columbia, she also brings familiarity with assignment expectations across the spectrum of theological education genres. Her specialties include advanced composition of various theological genres (including assignments that involve work with biblical languages), L2, and study skills.

Anita Denson, Writing Coach

Anita draws upon an entire career of reading and writing support, with thirty years of experience as an English teacher in Atlanta Public Schools. Her specialties include advanced composition of various academic genresEnglish grammar rules and usagereading skills, and test preparation. Her MACE degree and experience in teaching also make her a terrific conversation partner for projects related to Christian education.

Tyler Jones, Writing Coach

Tyler brings a variety of teaching, learning, and writing experiences to CAL, having served as an English tutor in Thailand, studied abroad in southeast Asia, written two academic theses, presented at the Southeastern Commission of Religion, worked in a library setting for over two years, and written a book review for the American Academy of Religion. His specialties include researchEnglish grammarhistory of theologyphilosophy, and comparative religions.
