Brief Job Description:

At Spiritual Health at Emory Healthcare (SHEH), we offer a unique and creative environment where trainees engage in diverse activities of spiritual care, education, and research. The educational aspect of the program is structured in small groups and individual supervision. Small group and individual sessions are led by ACPE Certified Educators. In these settings, clinical cases are shared and discussed utilizing the action/reflection/action format. The use of written accounts of the visits (verbatims) is a key tool in this type of reflective education. Trainees also receive opportunities for mentorship with staff chaplains assigned to the various units. We are offering a 2023 fall extended internship unit from September 6, 2023 - May 3, 2024 (34 weeks) at Emory Dekalb Operating Unit (Emory Decatur Hospital, Emory LTAC & Emory Hillandale), Emory University Hospital Midtown, and Winship Cancer Institute. We are waiving the tuition fee.

Netta Day Camp Assistant Manger

This position works alongside the Day Camp Manager to lead the Netta Day Camp program. This includes creating schedules, supervising or leading day-to-day activities, supporting Day Camp counselors and summer staff, and interacting with campers and their families. This a seasonal position for 9-10 weeks of the summer.

We currently have CPE Residency openings at Emory University Hospital, Emory Johns Creek Hospital, Emory University Hospital Midtown, Emory University Hospital at Wesley Woods, Emory Dekalb Operating Unit, and Winship Cancer Institute. The residency will begin on June 5th, 2023 and end June 7, 2024. (Residency at Winship Cancer Institute begins in May and ends June 6, 2024.)

Summer Ministry Intern

PURPOSE OF THE PROGRAM: to provide a summer field education experience for students in the M.Div., M.A.C.E., and/or dual degree programs; to provide for the social and spiritual nurture of the college staff of Montreat Conference Center; to participate in the leadership of worship sponsored by MCC; and to contribute to the faith development of young people in the Clubs day-camp program. Summer staff are not only involved in meaningful work during the summer but are also gaining valuable experience as part of a leader development program.

Community Engagement Summer Staff

The Center: Mission Outside the Box is a Baltimore-based community engagement initiative that hosts groups of all ages for hands-on service learning and mission experiences. Summer staff work for 10-12 weeks from Memorial Day-Mid-August. Summer staff spend most of their time out in neighborhoods, leading and serving alongside visiting groups who are taking part in mission immersion experiences with our local church and community partners. Staff also plan and lead worship services, and team-teach a comprehensive curriculum that integrates reflection with Bible study, missional theology and the history of systemic racism in Baltimore. Summer staff are paid a stipend of $3500 and housing is provided. Must have own transportation.

Student Ministry Intern (Tuition Scholarship Included)

Brookhaven Presbyterian Church (Atlanta, GA) is seeking a Student Ministry Intern for 20 hours/week. Compensation is $25,000/year + 80% Seminary Tuition and Fees.

We are offering this position to TWO applicants, one male and one female. Student Ministry Intern’s Primary Task:

  • disciple youth into a personal relationship with God in both large group and smaller relational environments and growing them in the biblical truths (teaching & mentoring)

  • teach youth and their need for the Jesus and what the Gospel and what that requires from them (reformed theology)

  • lead the planning and organizing of yearly programs / activities (camps, socials, missions trips) that provide opportunities for spiritual nurture, fellowship and growth

  • grow the student ministry by creating compelling incarnational-relational environments to which we will be reaching unchurched youth and our youth will be involved in inviting their unchurched friends.

  • lead and recruit leaders for the Student Ministry Leadership Team
