Red Clay Creek Presbyterian Church Summer, 2017 Visit us at We are a  congregation of about 1000 members with 300-350 in worship attendance. Red Clay is representative of a Caucasian middle/upper class congregation.  Members of the church range in age from 15-98, the largest age group being 36-55. The pillars of our ministry are Belong, Nurture, Reach, and Rejoice. We enjoy one another, and in an amazing variety of ways seek to share the gift of relationship with those beyond our walls. Responsibilities: * Support, develop, and help run summer youth and children activities including, for example, Camp Red Clay (a ten week recreationally focused time with children during Sunday morning worship), our annual mission trip to Maine, Vacation Bible School, and regular (no less than biweekly) programs for youth. * Support our Interim Transitional Minister in developing children and youth ministries for the fall. * Participate in worship leadership with opportunities for occasional preaching. * Hospital, member, and guest visitation as needed. * Weekly hour long meetings with the pastor to reflect on the intern's pastoral identity, his/her gifts for ministry, and any issue or concern that the intern presents. * Other duties as assigned by the pastor. The ideal candidate will demonstrate an experienced passion for working with children and youth, value the gifts of laughter and humor, enjoy participating in a very active congregation,  and yearn to discover anew the surprising God we meet in Jesus. Though this position is centered in ministry with children and youth, we hope that this summer immersion into congregational life will strengthen, challenge and clarify God's call in his/her life. Housing provided by the congregation.  Salary, $300/week. We expect to make our selection by May 15, 2017.
