Bethany Presbyterian Church in the north end of Tacoma is a welcoming and loving community that is looking for a 20-hour-a-week Director of Child and Youth Christian Education who will enjoy developing and supporting the overall Christian educational ministry of Bethany Presbyterian Church with a specific focus on children and youth, grades kindergarten through 12.

We are an inclusive, progressive, vibrant Christian community. We enjoy trying new ideas and including our children in the life of our congregation.

Successful applicants will have a bachelor’s degree and experience in Christian education, communications, or related field and a minimum of two years’ experience working independently and collaboratively, teaching children from Kindergarten to twelfth grade. Applicants must also have a vibrant Christian faith that is open and affirming of all God’s children and have participated in and been a part of a Christian community.

Solo Pastor - Installed, Eufaula, AL

Brief Job Description:

As the solo pastor of a small church, our candidate is should provide traditional, Biblically-based preaching and teaching  Sundays/Wednesday WOW including: administering the Sacraments of communion, baptisms, and when requested, to officiate weddings and funerals.  As head of staff, our pastor will  moderate and conduct the training of our Session.  Other tasks and assignments include: developing relationships with congregants, providing counseling as needed, visiting our homebound/hospitalized and offering Communion opportunities to those members. Moreover, we seek a pastor who will provide loving pastoral care to those experiencing significant life events/crises, etc.  Additionally, our pastor should be involved with the committees of the church to provide guidance and to assist in goal/strategy setting.    Finally, it is our wish that our pastor become immersed in our community, dedicated to outreach and growing our congregation, participative and active in our presbytery, and  committed to lead our congregation and community through his/her Christian example.
